Curves and Shadows

It has been more than a year and a half since I posted anything here. It’s been a busy year, though not in a way that I would have hoped for. I’m coming out of that tunnel now and am ready to start publishing the art I created during that time. I hope you find as much beauty and love in the stories told by the subjects in these photos as I did when I shot them.

This model turned 48 not too long after these photos were taken. She is the mother of two and grandmother to one, stepgrandmother to one and “aunty” to dozens of close friends. She has lived a hard life but found her safe haven a decade ago. That haven has given her the space to grow to love herself and her body and know it for the story-book it is and all of the scars and blemishes and even it’s shape are the language the story is written in.

I am blessed to be allowed to capture a few moments of that story and share them here. You’ve seen her before many times over the years and will see her again, much more often as time goes on. This is the beginning of a new story for her. I hope you get as much pleasure from see it as we are in telling it .

Hints of Things to Come

A thin line of light outlines the break between what we hope to see and the reality of what is there to see. The softness only hinted at but not revealed teases the coming story.

Young Woman, Young Beauty – Day 2

Yesterday I kicked off a week long series of posts from a boudoir shoot with the beautiful Kerstin.  We continue today with the first real set from that evening.   It’s always a challenge shooting a model’s first shoot, doubly so for one with any level of sensuality attached to it.   As you’ll see over the next few days, though, Kerstin really came out of her shell pretty quickly and lost herself in the fun of the shoot.

I give you; Day Two.

(no nudity, but suggestive themes)

Experiments in low key boudoir photography.

A vast majority of boudoir and sensual photography is shot with high key, or bright natural lights.  I thought, what could you do with low key, soft lighting and a willing model?     Here are a few of the images from a couple of hours of experimentation.  No nudity, but lingerie is still NSFW in most places, so it’s behind the cut.  Enjoy.

Back in the Studio with Pris

I shot this lovely lady mid last year in a relatively impromptu session. We had a hell of a lot of fun and talked about another session.  Life, as it does, gets in the way sometimes and it took until April of this year to get back together for another evening of fun and photos.

Rather than go on and on about this beautiful, vibrant and awesome woman, I’ll let the photos speak for me.  Enjoy.

This is the default gallery type template, located in:

If you're seeing this, it's because the gallery type you selected has not provided a template of it's own.

A blast from the past – Niki

Back in 2006 I was asked by a friend to play the role of the Sin of Vanity in her Seven Sins party.   What better way to help people wallow in vain sin than setting up a photo shoot for all their sexy costumes.   I spent the better part of the night shooting beautiful people in all their sensual and sexual glory.

Going back through those sets, I come across a few that I passed over before and with new eyes and new skills, bring them back to life.  Here is the lovely Niki in an incredible corset.   It’s been eight years since these were taken, but she’s every bit as beautiful today as she was then.

No nudity this time, but corset and lingerie still makes HR directors soil themselves so the photos are behind the cut.  Enjoy.

She’s so cute!

Jess has always had a bit of a dark personality.  Her preferred mode is intense and dark.  Every now and then, though, the cuteness in her soul bubbles up and I’ve been lucky enough to catch that in camera a few times.

"Oh really???"

“Oh really???”

A couple more from last weekend’s Group Shoot at Studio Eris.

Both images are behind the cut.  Wouldn’t want to cause any spontaneous combustion amongst the various HR departments around town.
