Devious Beauty in Red Silk

Good scotch, a fine cigar, soft silks, a beautiful woman.  What more could a photographer possibly want?

It’s not often I get another photographer in front of my camera, but I was blessed with that opportunity this weekend.   Below the fold are the first few edits from a marathon 5+ hour session with this lovely lady.

Yep, they’re not safe for work. Nudity, tobacco and alcohol abound beyond the fold.   I’m not sure which is more offensive to the prudes, to be honest.

Kerstin at T-minus 3 weeks and counting.

My step-niece, Kerstin is about 2-3 weeks from unleashing the next generation upon an unsuspecting and unprepared world. May the gods have mercy on us all.

Enjoy the photos.

First shoot with a brunette Valkyrie.

2015 has definitely started off with a bang.  Two full days of shooting in a row behind me and now I get to edit and finish the sets.  In the mean time, here is a teaser for the several sets I shot of a new model; Valkyrie.  As always, nudity behind the cut because people are prudes.

Wendi in Profile

I spent some time last night doing light and posing experiments with my lovely wife, Wendi.  Generally I do not get anything usable out of such a session since I’m focused on what works, doesn’t work, and on experiments. I deliberately push things to extremes in order to study the *why* as much as the *what* of how the pose or light acts and looks.

Then there are times when with a little post work, I come up with something truly extraordinary.  The last time was the image “Stark Elegance” (nsfw) where it was a particular pose and expression that was the inspiration for an image.  This time, it’s just the way the light fell, the softness of the detail on her hair, her expression.   It’s probably one of the most elegant portraits of Wendi I’ve taken yet.

Enjoy.

She’s so cute!

Jess has always had a bit of a dark personality.  Her preferred mode is intense and dark.  Every now and then, though, the cuteness in her soul bubbles up and I’ve been lucky enough to catch that in camera a few times.

"Oh really???"

“Oh really???”

A Beautiful Young Woman From the Deep Archives.

Digging deep into the archives this week, I came across the first session I ever shot with Jessica.  You’ve seen some photos from this set percolate up over the years, but some of these have never seen the light of day.

This set was shot in 2007, just a couple of weeks after her 18th birthday.  The original concept for the shoot was an extended series of poses for her to use as reference material in her artistic pursuits.    By the time we finished the reference shots, she was having so much fun we just kept shooting.   I think we shot for about 3 or 4 hours that day.

Jessica was a regular in front of my camera until she got to busy with College last year and I’ve only gotten to shoot her once since spring of 2013.  As I revisit the archives over time, you’ll be seeing more of what were originally the ‘cast offs’ from the many, many sets over the 6+ years between this shoot and the last full session we shot in early 2013.  And who knows, when she’s between semesters and has some free time, I may yet get her back in front of my lens to create more art.

These are sensual and classic nude poses, so I’ve put them behind the fold, as usual.  Enjoy.
