Caught in the Web.

Jessica posed for an impromptu shoot with a fantastic iridescent spider web covered fabric back in 2009.   Only a couple of these shots ever saw the light of day until now.   She had no makeup, no hair styling, just her and the drape in front of a white wall.

Over the ensuing six years, my editing skills have improved significantly so I thought I’d see what I can do with them now.   This gallery is the result.   Enjoy.

Expressions of Beauty at Alchemy 2011

The spirit of creativity and the joy of free expression is the foundation of Burning Man and the regional festivals that have formed from it’s inspiration.

With that spirit in mind I asked this lovely woman to let me capture her expressions of that freedom and her inner beauty at the Alchemy burn in 2011.

Images behind the cut and as you already know, They’re NSFW.  Tasteful and beautiful nudity abounds in this set.

A Study in Stark Contrast.

Back in June of 2011, I had a fun couple of hours in the studio with two of my favorite models from that year.   I’ve gotten a higher percentage of good shots out of that session than just about any other that year.   A couple of those images even became the centerpiece of three different gallery shows.

As anyone who follows my work knows, I’ve spent a good portion of this year going back over my entire body of work and pulling out those gems that just did not have the tools or techniques to polish at the time.   I also have been revisiting the “finished” pieces to see if I can get just that little bit of extra shine from them.   This shoot is one of those that I have gotten both new images to show and been able to really refine the quality on some of the ones already deemed “finished”.

Only one of the shots I worked on tonight is work safe and you can see it up top.  The rest are behind the fold.   As always, use your discretion when viewing.

She’s so cute!

Jess has always had a bit of a dark personality.  Her preferred mode is intense and dark.  Every now and then, though, the cuteness in her soul bubbles up and I’ve been lucky enough to catch that in camera a few times.

"Oh really???"

A Beautiful Young Woman From the Deep Archives.

Digging deep into the archives this week, I came across the first session I ever shot with Jessica.  You’ve seen some photos from this set percolate up over the years, but some of these have never seen the light of day.

This set was shot in 2007, just a couple of weeks after her 18th birthday.  The original concept for the shoot was an extended series of poses for her to use as reference material in her artistic pursuits.    By the time we finished the reference shots, she was having so much fun we just kept shooting.   I think we shot for about 3 or 4 hours that day.

Jessica was a regular in front of my camera until she got to busy with College last year and I’ve only gotten to shoot her once since spring of 2013.  As I revisit the archives over time, you’ll be seeing more of what were originally the ‘cast offs’ from the many, many sets over the 6+ years between this shoot and the last full session we shot in early 2013.  And who knows, when she’s between semesters and has some free time, I may yet get her back in front of my lens to create more art.

These are sensual and classic nude poses, so I’ve put them behind the fold, as usual.  Enjoy.

Random photos from the deeeeeeeep archives part (whatever)

Felt a bit hermit-like tonight so I put on the headphones and went through (mumble) years of photos tonight. Pulled a few out to play around with as the mood struck me. Some of these you’ve seen earlier edits of, some are newly unearthed. Enjoy.

A long awaited detail post. — Stark Elegance revisited

Back in 2011 I posted this shot of Jessica and a few people asked me to detail how I accomplished it and how much editing it took.  I realized that I never actually made that post.   So, here’s that post.

NSFW photos ahead.

Nude on the stairs.

I grabbed a quick couple of shots of the always beautiful Evil Overqueen on the stairs this afternoon.   I’m still experimenting with black & white and the difference in texturing, composition and tone as opposed to color.    It’s a shame, really, because her skin tone is just fantastic.  I may post the color versions later.

Break for the boob averse. Beyond here lies nudity.

Experiments in Black and White.

I’ve been going through some of my better photos from the last couple of years and revisiting my techniques for B/W conversion.  I think this one works much better than the old technique.  I was able to bring out the details on her jacket and give her some hair back.

Experiment in new B/W techniques.

Model: Jessica Taken in 2011.

Jess enjoying the wind and sun on top of Effigy hill at Alchemy this year.

I had a chance to shoot Jess up on top of Effigy hill at Alchemy this year.  The  cool breezes, warm sun and beautiful skies were just too perfect to not use as a backdrop for one of my most beautiful regular models.

Image and link to the gallery are after the cut to save on heart medication for HR departments and other prudes who explode at the sight of a boob.   Enjoy.
